Aidian presented the use of SIBA® technology at the 5th Munich Point-of-Care Testing Symposium
Aidian's Head of New Technologies & IPR, Mirko Brummer, attended the 5th Munich Point-of-Care Testing Symposium (POCT) September 27–29, 2022. The symposium program was a very high-quality mix of presentations on all aspects of POCT. Aidian was also present with its own stand in the industry exhibition, manned by German Aidian colleagues Olaf Neelsen and Robert Fuller.
Mirko presented the use of Aidian's isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology SIBA® and how it is used in the molecular Point-of-Care for infectious disease. A good example was SARS-CoV-2 detection chemistry adapted to the Egoo device (Qlife Aps, Denmark). Probably most attention was generated by insights shown into the development of SIBA amplification that functions specifically at room temperature. This can enable totally instrument free ‘PCR quality’ molecular POCT testing at home with a minimal waste footprint.
SIBA technology performs at a low and constant temperature avoiding the need of complex thermal cycling instrumentation. Well established SIBA answers to increasing demands on faster and more cost-effective testing methods. Learn more about SIBA from SIBA technology's web page.
